These resources look at coastal protection. It focuses on different types, their advantages and disadvantages, and the wider issues surrounding coastal protection. Excellent ICT links are found in this resource. Computer access is needed for this researching task, or it could be set as a homework. Pupils use their internet searching skills in order to investigate types of coastal protection and their costs.

These resources look at coastal protection. It focuses on different types, their advantages and disadvantages, and the wider issues surrounding coastal protection. This worksheet requires pupils to use prior knowledge and common sense to match up coastal protection types with advantages, disadvantages and costs. This is a good option if ICT access is not possible.

5d) Swanage worksheet

This worksheet looks at the impact of coastal defence on Swanage. It looks at the reasons for it, problems associated with it and other issues using maps and images. There is a Swanage Google Earth tour and an interactive activities resource to accompany this worksheet.
